At the very beginning of the day today, 12 AM to be exact, up and comers Travis Porter got the internet "ALL THE WAY TURNT UP" by releasing the video to their new song "Go Shorty Go". I will admit that this song is on my playlist and pretty much a big deal. I also love that Travis Porter rocked Fli Pelican Clothing in the video. For any of you who are unfamiliar with Fli Pelican, let's just say that its a nice fashion line. I like my clothes the way I like my music: quality. Back to the point, if you haven't heard the song or seen the video take the time out to kill 2 birds with one stone. ENJOY!

Less Than 100
By special request, today's post will be on identifying and dealing with people who kept it "less than 100"
From experience I can tell you one thing that will ALWAYS remain true: people will show you who they really are very early on, all you have to do is pay attention. Once that person has shown you who they are, please believe them, it'll save you a whole lot of trouble in the end.
Example: Said person may be the sweetest thing to you, but if you notice that they always have something to say to you about someone whom you thought to be their friend; chances are when you leave their telling someone else something about you. When I say "something" I mean anything that they haven't or wouldn't say to that person directly.
Next, I've come to the conclusion that most people who keep it "less than 100" only do so because they have yet to learn to be honest with themselves. I can't expect you to tell me the truth if you can't tell yourself the truth. Being completely comfortable with yourself takes some people a long time to get to. If you are fortunate enough to be one of those people who have reached that level of self awareness and comfort, try to be a little understanding when you recognize that the person you are dealing with is not quite there yet. I'm not saying to let everything slide, by all means call them on the BS it's a part of their learning experience, so don't let them get away with it.
Finally, the best way to deal with those who keep it "less than 100" and just people in general is this: 1.) Know what you are and are not willing to put up with 2.) Make people aware of those things 3.) Should an individual cross one of your lines let them know you won't put up with it and STICK TO IT 4.) STICK TO IT!! Don't make a stand for yourself and then back down later, that will get you no where very quickly

GRAMMY NODS
The list is up and the competition is STIFF! Wow, some really deserving people got nominated this year, and I think Beyonce may need a grocery cart to carry home her awards if she wins all 11. Here's the list in it's entirety if you would like to peruse it. Jay and Bey go head to head in one category. Best Rap/Sung collab pits them against each other which I find hilarious since they have NUMEROUS rap/sung collabs with each other.

World AIDS Day
Today is World AIDS Day in case you didn't know. In support of the cause and raising awareness it's customary to wear red or a red ribbon. Twitter is getting in on the action by making all tweets that mention AIDS/HIV red. It's pretty cool. Also for you Twitter heads, you can follow @JoinRed to show your support for the cause.
In old news, Jay-Z is going on tour again. I refuse to go to a Jay concert if I can't sit ridiculously close to the front. Thusly, I'll be missing out on the ATL tour date. If any of you get to go, drop me a line and let me know how it went!

Swavor of the Week = Dot Gatsby
Long time no speak, and I'm sorry but such is the busy little life I lead as a college student. So to get things back rolling, IT'S SUNDAY and you know what that means: NEW SWAVOR! The SOW position goes to a rapper by the name of Dot Gatsby. He's been making his rounds in the open mic circuit for a while and doing quite well. He got my attention with the mixtape "Five JOINTS Volume One" The name says enough; it includes five songs. Each one is distinct from the next and the entire compilation keeps you rockin and leaves you wanting more. My favorite joint has to be the first one which is titled "Ringtone Rapper". The lyrics on this project are on point and so is the production. I give the whole thing two thumbs up! You can check out more of Dot Gatsby by following him on Twitter @GATSBYisCRACK tell him @Carter2Carter sent ya! The link to the mixtape has been provided for you earlier in this post. Do yourselves a favor and give a listen to his music.

NO CEILINGS
Weezy's done it again, and just in time too. He's released his latest mixtape No Ceilings right when he may be carted off to the slammer. I doubt he'll even have to serve very much of the sentence. Anyway, I've only heard a couple of joints from it, but I like what I'm hearing about it. I see that he's goin in over alot of southern hits. Let's take a look at a few shall we?

OH LETS DO IT- originally by Waka Flocka Flame currently getting increasingly more attention in ATL

Nuff Said
I'm all about showing you guys the new, non mainstream stuff. Luckily today I'll be able to give you audio and visual. I got the opportunity to interview 2 talented young men by the names of Hangtime and The Arsonist. They have a mixtape dropping 2moro, actually today. Anyway you put it, it's dropping VERY SOON. It's called NUFF SAID. I have my copy, and you can hear it at datpiff.com
Also for your enjoyment, I have the actual interview. SO take a look, then go take a listen, and see if these guys strike your fancy!!

Let's Play Catch Up
Since my last post I learned that Jay-Z is on tour and either he didn't come to ATL or I missed it already. Either way, FAIL! Secondly, someone started a rumor that Kanye West is dead, he's very much alive so it's all good. Last, Lil Wayne may be going to jail soon. Don't worry because he probably wont do much time! Also, Trina AND Nicki Minaj are on the official remix to "5 Star Chick". Everyone thinks Nicki has the best verse, I think they spoke from 2 different view points and since they both have 2 distinct styles, you can't really compare them. I just like to see UNITY in the female sector of the rap game.

WINGS OF AN ANGEL ~STOP THE VIOLENCE~
As part of a school project 6 classmates and I have come together to form a group we named "Wings of an Angel". With this group we intend on raising money that will be donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta. Every fundraiser we hold will be for this effort. All of our profits will be given to BGCMA. The BGCMA provides youth a safe environment to learn and express themselves. It keeps them off the streets and out of trouble. They are doing their part to better today's youth and an outcome of that is undoubtly putting a halt to VIOLENCE. You can help us to help them help our youth by donating to our group. Any and every donation is appreciated! It doesn't matter how small it may be. If you are interested in supporting Wings of an Angel in this venture you can send an email to jbarton4@student.gsu.edu
Thank you in advance for your help.

HIS NAME IS TRAVIS & HE'S PRETTY MUCH A BIG DEAL
Gym Class Heroes graced the campus of Ga State University with their presence last night. This is one time when I feel like my student fees were put to excellent use. The was relatively short but every minute of it great. I had the distinct pleasure of being about 10 inches from Travis' face. I think they may have actually put on the most high energy performance I've seen in 2009. They even did a "When Doves Cry" cover that was priceless. Sashi on guitar was truely a hero! I feel like maybe we cheated them since student tickets were so cheap and they did such a wonderful job.

Swavor of the Week = EARTHGANG
I really wasn't sure if I was going to be able to come through with a new Swavor for this week, but just as I contemplated giving up hope I was HIT with greatness! I get a lot of invitations on Facebook to become a "FAN" of one group or another. Usually I just ignore them without any thought at all. Today for some strange reason I decided to investigate one of these fan pages. What did I find? I found a refreshing sound that I felt obligated to share with the masses. I would like to introduce to all of you a duo by the name of Earthgang.
Being as how I only discovered these guys a few hours ago, I can't tell you that they are great live performers since I've never seen them perform. BUT I can tell you that they make good music. I'm not talking about that mainstream futuristc movement that's going on right now either. I'm talking about precise lyricism and amazing production. It's not often that you find both now a days. I could probably go on and on with a rant about how shocked I was that I immediately loved what I heard on their Myspace, but I'd rather let you go and find that out for yourselves. Check em out NOW!! ---> EARTHGANG MYSPACE

STOP THE VIOLENCE
I've been a little thrown since the murder of Derrion Albert was caught on video. I specify caught on video because, had it not been taped it probably wouldn't have made headlines. I've been going back and forth in my mind on whether or not I should write about this tragedy. I asked myself, what difference would it make if I did write about this? I still don't have that answer, but I do know that I will never find it if I don't speak out. It seems clear to me after watching the video that this type of thing is so common that no one thought twice about taping it. I have read so many comments about why someone would tape the death of another human instead of helping. Clearly this person did not know what the outcome would be. If you pay attention you'll notice that there were a lot of people passing by or through and no one seemed afraid or disturbed by what was going on around them. It seemed to be commonplace. Second, what do you think would have happened if someone had stepped in? There would have been 2 casualties instead of one. You can't honestly watch that video and think that anyone other than those responsible could have stopped that.
What's worse than all this is the fact that senseless acts of violence like this occur everyday and the only tears of sympathy those victims receive are from their mothers. What's worse than that is the fact that the problem is rooted deeper than anything we can fix anytime soon. Focusing specifically on the black community, the problems that plague us our so systemized into our very existence that we aren't even aware of most of them. I wish I could go into the details of how self hatred, emasculation and violence have been programmed into our people since our ancestors were brought to this country. Break the black man in front of his woman and she will know that he can't protect her. Rape the black woman in front of her man and he'll know that he can't protect her. I'm paraphrasing of course, but it's not off base at all. Anyone who can, should at least take an introductory level African American Stuides course. Things will become so much clearer.
I'm not pointing fingers or placing blame or even suggesting that this is all "The Man's" fault. The Man did not hit Derrion with that 2 by 4 and The Man did not beat him to death. Misguided, hopeless and hurt young men did that. Misguided because they knew no other way of expressing their anger and aggression. Hopeless because they couldn't have had dreams for their future to risk their own lives in such a brawl. Hurt because at the end of the day hurt is what drives most people to the edge; the point of no return.
From the second after I saw that video I've wanted to do something, ANYTHING at all. But I haven't been able to figure out what. I could donate money, but what would that really accomplish? Yes, it could help Derrion's family with his funeral and other expenses that they are too grievous to attend to right now but it won't change what happened. Honestly, this isn't just about Derrion anymore. This is about him and all the other countless youth who have lost their lives to violence. This is about those youth who don't know anything other than to act out in violence; and to me that's the saddest part of this story.
So, I've decided to no longer be silent. I've decided that as long as I'm silent, as long as anyone is silent, then we aren't much better than those people committing these acts. You never know how many people your voice may reach. You never know whose heart your words may touch. I pray that my voice and words reach and touch at least one person before my time is done on this earth. I pray that they may help someone to think twice about their actions. I pray that they may encourage someone to speak up and out.
My thoughts, prayers, and condolences go out to Derrion's family and friends; and to the family and friends of those who have lost someone to senseless violence and to those who believe that violence is the only way to survive.

SWAVOR OF THE WEEK
SWAVOR ALERT! SWAVOR ALERT!
This week's Swavor goes to a couple young boys by the names TK & CA$H. Now, these boys are from my hometown of Augusta Ga, but that's NOT why they get this week's spotlight. Last year sometime I was at the "I Wanna B A Star" showcase here in Atlanta, and I saw CA$H perform. Lil homie rocked the stage and he passed out his EP. I must admit I bumped it for QUITE somtime. On the EP is a song called "Fruity Colors" with TK. Now, I have never been too down with the whole fruity stupid swag stuff, but this song is on my list of jams by non mainstream artists. The duo has a song that was getting radio play back home over the summer called "Hollywood" and that is also on my aforementioned list. TK & CA$H have now been signed to DTP. Looks like Luda knows a good thing when he sees it. I'm so excited for these cats and I know they'll do big things. If you don't believe me, then check them out for yourself ----->> TK&CASH MYSPACE

SWAVOR OF THE WEEK
So here's a little story. I was walking around Underground Atlanta a couple of weeks ago and I ran across this guy. He said "Do you listen to hip hop?" and of course I responded with an affirmative. Next he goes on to tell me about this mixtape he's selling and how he cam all the way from Dayton. So I'm like ok cool. Since it was only $1 I figured, why not cop it? So I popped it in the CD player the next day and to my complete and utter surprise, it was good! I was really feelin it. Do I listen to it daily? No. But, you wouldn't believe the amount of music I come across that is just mixed and mastered garbage, so I had to make this guy a Swavor.
He goes by the name of R. Deniro. The mixtape I purchased is titled "I'm Here". My fave tracks on it would have to be #7 "Gun 2 A Rose" and #8 "Brotherly Love" All I can do now is point you in the direction of his Myspace and let you formulate your own opinions. With that being said, check him out at http://myspace.com/nirotv

OFF THE KANYE BAN
Soooo, clearly I thought I was going to boycott Kanye West as a person and mention is name "Never No More" (look that song up if you dont know it), but after seeing him all sad and defenseless on Jay Leno, I've decided to give him a pass. It's like Hannah Montana says "Everybody makes mistakes, everybody has those days" and at the end of the day, Kanye is just too much of a musical genius to be denied. I just hopes he "pumps the brakes and drives slow" from now on (I'm on a roll!). We all have our rude moments, his was just on national TV. If we had to live under a the magnifying lens of the media, our slip ups would be huge too. Ye, I still "rock with you".

VMA 2009 Run Down
I know the internet has been abuzz with this since the show started last night, so I'll try not to beat the dead horse. Here's my 2 cents in a nut shell:
- Janet: That's how you do a tribute
- Kanye: I plan on boycotting him as a person. His music will remain on my iPod but I will not speak his name. He set
blackpeople back about 50 years last night. I wonder how many followers he lost on Twitter. - Taylor Swift: I've always loved her. She deserved to win, her video was too cute.
- Lady Gaga: I've never seen so many outfit changes by someone who wasn't hosting.
- Russel Brand: ........
- Beyonce: Did the right thing
- Serena Williams: How cool was that
- Pink: Best performance of the night
- Jay-Z: He did his Jay-Z thing
- Alicia Keys: Beautiful and talented
- Lil Mama: Where did she come from? I looked down to send a text and BOOM there she is??!!
- Eminem+Tracy Morgan: Priceless
- Wale: Best publicity you could ask for. WOW!

VMAs!!!!
The MTV Video Music Awards come on tonight and for as long as I can remeber I have stayed up to watch them. Tonight will be no different! I expect an excellent show as usual AND Janet Jackson is scheduled to do the MJ tribute! I pray she finds the strength to do it. I know a lot of bloggers will be updating their sites live as they watch the show but I will not. I want to give undivided attention to this event and give my remarks tomorrow after the fact. Also, I had EVERY intention of putting up a new Swavor today, but I don't think the timing is quite right. I promise there will be a fresh new Swavor in that box next Sunday though.

Rhapsody Commercial
OK OK OK! So I'm probably going to sound so corny after this next statement but I dont care. I saw the Rhapsody commercial for Jay's Blueprint 3 and it was great. It was so simple and yet that was the genius in it. He simply reenacted photo shoots for the covers of his previous albums, for anyone who doesn't know what the album artwork for those are would be completely lost though. Either way I think this may be in my top 10 favorite commercials of all time. Check it out for yourself below. [ You can't tell me this joint isn't cool! ]

Swavor of the Week
This week's Swavor goes to the Michael Jackson tribute put on Friday night by the Ga State University chapter of MEISA. They made it a great event. There were give aways of aviators, fedoras, and white gloves. A few people walked away with DVDs too. There were performances by some of the most talented artists in the Atlanta area. Performers included The DooWoop Boys, The 54, Vinson and Level 7, Josh Bias, Perfect Dissonance and the Theatre South Atlanta Youth Ensemble, just to name a FEW. It was truly a great night that definately would've made MJ proud. Not only did they celebrate the King of Pop, but they also collected canned goods for the needy. Check out this video of few highlights of the night.

Let's Clear It Up
I want to clear the air about something. I write this blog on my own, it is in no way actually affliated with Lil Wayne or Jay-Z. I am not an assistant of either of them (although I wouldn't mind it). The email address posted on the right side of this page is the official email of this blog. It should be used to contact me directly concerning any matter dealing with the blog or even if you just want to say "wassup". It is NOT, I repeat NOT the email address of Lil Wayne or Jay-Z. I've have gotten several emails from Weezy fans who seem to be under the impression that they are actually emailing Dwayne Carter himself. The Jay-Z fans must either know its not his email address or they don't want to bother him since I've yet to recieve one from a Jay fan. Next, I do not know the email address of Lil Wayne or Jay-Z, should I ever come into the priveldge of that information I promise that I will forward the messages that have already been sent to me. However, please do not send me any fan emails thinking that I already have that info.
I think that covers all the bases for today. Til next time guys.

Jamie Foxx Drake Lloyd Wayne???
Whoa, I just saw the new video for Jamie Foxx's song "Digital Girl" ft. Drake The Dream and Kanye. I swear I've seen this video somewhere before. Hmmm....shiny girls and musicians? Oh yeah!!! Lloyd did something like that in the video for "Girls Around the World"! I just thought I'd point that out. See and compare for yourself.

The Blueprint III Track List
As we all know the third installment of the BLUEPRINT will be released on September 11th, and if I'm not mistaken that is a Friday. Usually movies are released on Fridays and albums on Tuesdays, you think Jay is trying to make a point? Anyway, the track listing has been released and it is shown below for your viewing pleasure. I see that Drake and Kid Cudi are making appearances on this project so to me that's pretty much a big deal.

Bow Wow + Cash Money = ?
So Bow Wow is signed to Cash Money now!?! What does this mean for him and the label? Well, I have no idea. I'm thinking it probably won't change much of anything for Bow since he's pretty much established as far as who he is as an artist. Sure he can grow but, if he does an image overhaul that will probably be a big fail. At any rate CONGRATS to Bow and Cash Money and hopefully the venture is succussful.

I'm Yours
I know I've been slacking on my Jay & Wayne stories but I'm back on the horse so here we go. I heard a couple of people talkin about this song by Jason Mraz and Lil Wayne and I was all excited because
1. I like Jason Mraz
2. I like Wayne
3. I love collabos
So when I learned it was the "I'm Yours" remix I was even more intrigued. Well, all my hopes for this venture were shot out of the sky immediately once I heard the song. I'm not one for bashing, but it pretty much sucks. It's like somebody got a hold of "I'm Yours" and the acapella from "Let's Make a Toast" and had at it. I'm wondering if this was signed off on by Jason and Wayne, because it's not good at all. It ruins "I'm Yours" and it ruins the memory of "Let's Make a Toast". Whoever thought that this was a good idea, guess what? You were WRONG! But I'm sure you meant well, next time how bout having both artists on the same page instead of cutting and pasting hits that they've already made because apparently two rights can make a wrong.

Swavor of the Week
I HAVE BEEN SO SLACK!! I'M SORRY FORGIVE ME PEOPLE BUT I'LL BE BACK IN FULL EFFECT SOON!
Let's start this thing off early, since I'm off schedule anyways. The Swavor for this week is an up and coming rapper by the name of Izrael. Haven't heard of him? Well, you'll be hearing alot more of him soon. He's basically got the Atlanta underground buzzing and bubbling and all that good stuff. He's got this really cool song that I personally LOVE! It's called "Glass Roof" and yeah it's kinda my jam. SO I was Youtubing and I came across this performance of him doing "Glass Roof" and I just had to put it up here. LADIES!!! This is especially for you. I know his publicist loves when he performs like this. Back to the point, he's got great lyrics and great music and you should take the time out to get to know him. Go check out his MYSPACE PAGE to hear the other songs he's got and decide for yourelf how you feel about him. Oh and follow him on twitter @Izrael

Strictly FYI
To kick things off, I am on Twitter! If ya didn't know, now ya do! So you are more than welcome to follow me and my own rantings at http://twitter.com/Carter2Carter
Next up, FYI if he or she says "I'm not really looking for a relationship right now" or something close to it, that only means ONE thing: "You're cool and all, but I'm not really feeling you like that" because trust if they find someone they're into extra hard the same afternoon they make that statement to you, they WILL be in a relationship with the newbie by the end of the next week.
Finally, "The Rebirth" has been pushed back again. We know how it goes when Wayne's projects get postponed so when there's a concrete date, I'll let ya know, until then you can stop holding your breath.

Personal Moment
OK, I usually don't take the time hear to just vent for my own benefit, but today I will. One thing I hate is a liar. Liars don't have respect for anyone and I'm still trying to figure out if they have any for themselves. I mean, what's the issue with TELLING the truth when your ACTIONS are gonna reveal your true self and motives any way? Let's just cut through all the tape and get to the chase. Once you are caught in a lie I will lose ALL respect for you. I will not want to have anything to do with you, and since I like being about action, I will promptly remove you from any of my social circles where your prescence is not vital. Study group? You can stay. Just kickin it? You better kick yourself to someone who has time for the bull cuz it is not and never will be me. Will I let you speak to me? Of course. Will I believe any word from your mouth? Ofcourse not. Am I mad right now? Not at all, actually I'm cooler than a cucumber. I am however less than a little disappointed to find that someone from one of my circles must be cut loose. It's the nature of the game so there's no love lost, respect on the other hand is completely gone. Well, I've already wasted too much of my time, efforts, energy and talents on this individual by just writing this. What I want ot do now is pose a question to you all. What is the ONE thing a person can do for you to lose ALL respect for them? Leave a comment to answer.

Funny Stuff
Anyone who knows me can tell you that I'm notorious for knowing and finding out obscure and or random facts. They can also tell you that I spend a good bit of time watching the Comcast On Demand channel. So during my rovings thru the depths of On Demand I came across a tab where you can watch and apparently submit parody videos of your favorite songs. So as I've been watching this particular program, I've noticed a repeat offender so to speak. His name is B-Phraze and I must admit that his spoofs are golden! Today I watched one called "Ebay Bay" of course it's a parody of Hurricane Chris' "A Bay Bay" My personal favorite is the remake of "Duffle Bag Boy" cleverly turned into "Ruffle Bag Boy". I can't even tell you how hard I laughed at home watching that one! So I scooted on over to his Myspace music page and realized that well, I was a little late in my discovery of him. :( Nevertheless, he's pretty much a genius. If you haven't already, check him out at http://myspace.com/bphraze and watch my favo vid of his below

Swavor of the Week
It's that time again and I know you've missed it. So last week I came across an interesting project in progress. It's a product line called "The Stank", now before you stop reading you should know that "The Stank" refers to a certain sex appeal and apparently for a small fee, you too can be stanky. I always tip my hat to entreprenuers so CONGRATS to the creaters of "The Stank" you are this week's swavor. If you wanna find out more about the stank, hop on over to their website --->> http://thestank.weebly.com/
P.S. I saw a pic of preggers Lauren London, apparently Lil Wayne has the stank already!

The Best I Ever Had
We all know how I love Drake, but the video for "Best I Ever Had" is a failure to me. It's funny, kinda, and entertaining for the most part, but I think he could've done something really special with this video especially since it's his first single. Just because he doesn't have an album yet doesn't mean he has to make crappy videos. Decide for yourself, I'm saddend by the outcome.

Let's Play Catch Up
It's been a long time, I shouldn't have left you without a dope post to get through.
First, clearly the HP has been revived! Now on to business.
Clearly June 25th must have been the single saddest day in recent history, I know I don't need to elaborate anymore on that front. Nextly, the BET Awards did fairly decent for the small amount of time they had to revamp the show. I have a feeling that the VMA's are gonna shut it down on so many levels though since they have a little more time to work. The thing I REALLY want to talk about is what will soon become my new favorite reality show: TINY&TOYA!!!
So the sneak peek aired after the awards after show last night/this morning and it was nothing special but Toya has the MOST New Orleans accent I've heard since.....I'm not even sure when I've heard such a deep accent. Then there's Tiny, what can I say about her? She's T.I's woman! Plus I had no idea she's biracial. Toya's drama seems like it's gonna be along the lines of Keyshia Cole ( speaking of whom, Monica DEFinitely stole the show from her during their performance together ). Tiny's drama seems like it will be created single handly by herself. I think she's going to try and make difficult situations for herself, but we'll see. I know the one thing on everyone's mind: WILL WAYNE APPEAR ON THE SHOW? Honestly, I doubt it, and if he does I'm sure it will only be to visit and or pick up Reginae.
On to Jay. His wifey did her thing on stage, the costume was a bit much for me but hey that's Bey for ya! Next, his video for "DOA (Death of Autotune) premiered last night also. Long story short, Jay could use some autotune for the singing he does, but I give him all the respect for the attempt. Also, I love how he blew up the rack full of clothes that would best be described as "stupid fruity swag". Thank you Jay, it was very necessary! Oh yeah, The Blueprint 3 drops September 11th.

BABY RUMORS
I hate talking about things I dont have facts on, but ever since I learned Lauren London's name I've been hearing that she's pregnant with Lil Wayne's baby, and it's been a couple years but still no baby. Now a days ot seems that rumor is creeping back up and I just dont know what to believe or discredit anymore. If this is true or false can I PLEASE get some definite confirmation! Tell Wayne to hit my inbox with the real true story and put this rumor to bed!

Swavor of the Week = Keep It 100
As of late I've noticed I only seem to have time to updat the SOW, but that's only because finals have been a BEAST!!! I shall return in FULL FORCE very soon. This week's SWAVOR is..."keeping it 100" I have no idea where that originally came from, but I really like the way it sounds. In case you didn't know "keepin it 100" just means keeping it real aka being upfront and honest about things. I'm not going to assert my own personal opinions about this topic, but needless to say I think it's a great concept. The task for this week is for you to "keep it 100" with at least on eperson. DO NOT HOLD BACK! This is a crucial part of this concept, so if you are not able to give or recieve brutal honesty, then maybe you should stick to lying (which I DO NOT condone)
Alright everyboy let's go KEEP IT 100!!
Alright everyboy let's go KEEP IT 100!!

Trickin if you got it?
For as long as I can remember, I've been told (from rap music of course) that "it aint trickin if you got it" It took me YEARS to figure out what that means. In my understanding, that statement refers to the promiscuous activities of women for monetary favors. Apparently if you are a broke female with no cash of your own then the aforementioned action labels you a "trick" and thusly are "trickin". But if you have your own source of income, then it's ok and you're not labeled anything.
Then you have all these songs about women being independent and not needing a man for anything, and as of late these songs are being made by MEN! (Ne-Yo, Webbie, etc.) Now, what I get from this is that the guys out there don't mind spending some cash on the ladies they entertain in their bedroom as long as these women can drive themselves home in their own cars. Hmmm... I guess that's understandable, but what about when the shoe is on the other foot? Is it "trickin" if a man is broke as a joke and mangaes to pull a financially stable young woman who takes care of some expenses here and there for him, as long as she's satisfied? Last time I checked that was just called being trifling and free loading, but NOT trickin!!!
Why is it that women have to get called tricks in the event that they are not as financially stable as their "buddy" for lack of a better term? I say it's ALL TRICKIN! You're trickin if you're spending on her and she's not wifey, she's trickin cuz she's not wifey. You're trickin if you spending on him and he's not hubby, and you're trickin if you're not hubby! Let's do better people.

Swavor of The Week
This week's Swavor goes out to HATERS!! I mean, they really don't get any love. I think everybody has at least one hater and that one hater pretty much keeps you on your job cuz you know he or she is waiting to catch you slipping. So I thought that this week maybe we should be more appreciative of these haters, and chances are you might be a hater yourself, and you know what: there is nothing wrong with that as long as you KNOW your are a hater and you acknowledge and accept it. I won't lie, I have my hater moments, but I do usually give a disclaimer before I start one like "Yes I'm hating right now" or "I'm about to hate on this for a minute" So if you are a hater or ever been a hater or are thinking about becoming a hater, this week is for you!!!!

FOUNDER OF FUTURISTIC
I love J.Money, please believe that, and I hate to see every one walking around talking about how futuristic their swag is clearly since they heard him say it first. However, I was in music class and was watching a film and they started talking about what seems to be the first futuristic swag, a little something they called GLAM ROCK. Here is where I introduce David Bowie the rocker from outerspace, is what I think he was calling himself during this period....hmmmmm...sound familiar??? Let's give credit where it's really due, there is truly NOTHING new under the sun. Take a look at truely FUTURISTIC SWAG and it's founder! This is David Bowie's alien alter ego named Ziggy Stardust. (I can't make this stuff up)

SWAVOR OF THE WEEK
I have one that the ladies are gonna LOVE this week. It's one of my new favorite songs by up and comers MAC & SLIM from their latest mixtape called "Cooley High" The song is called "Ms. Me" In the song they describe their lady friends as young women who do everything they do, call it a different take on Miss Independent. The chorus states "She ballin just like me...she swaggin just like me...she do it just like me..." I dont know about you ,but I appreciate a man that appreciates having a level playing field, if I wasn't so single this song would be mandated as whoever my significant other would be's ringtone for me. I want you guys to check this song out over in the SOW box and then run over to Mac & Slim's Mysapce page.

Swavor of the Week
I'm a day late with this but...well...it happens ok. Seems like every where I turn there is an effin touch screen in my face. Personalyl I like pressing buttons. Tangible things give me comfort, however the rest of the world seems to be hypnotized by screens that only require your finger for operation. So for the pleasure of those people, the Swavor for this week is TOUCH SCREENS!

Sleeping in class??
Ok, I've been slack on the posts this week, please forgive me. Seeing as how the Swavor of the Week is COLLEGE, I thought I would share something with you that one of my professors attache dto the bottom of our homework (I guess to give us a laugh while we're agonizing over the assignment). It's the top five excuses to use for getting caught sleeping in class!
[Yes I copied this STR8 from my homework assignment]
NUMBER 5: They told me at the Blood Bank this might happen.
NUMBER 4: 'This is just a 15 minute power nap they raved about in the time-management course my other Professors recommended.
NUMBER 3: 'Whew! Guess I left the top off the White-out. You probably got here just in time!
NUMBER 2: Did you ever notice sound coming out of these Laptops when you put your ear down real close?
Number 1 And MY all time Favorite: best thing to say if you get caught sleeping in class: (Raising your head slowly and say) ... Amen

R.O.O.T.S.-Flo Rida
Ok, recap. Last week I went to this listening suite for Flo rida's new album R.O.O.T.S. Let's start with the fact that I'm not a big Flo Rida fan, he's got skill and I'll give him that, he just doesn't do anything for me. I do however enjoy that "Oh hot damn, this is my jam! Keep me partying til the AM!" song (obviously I don't know the title of it) Anyway, the new album gets one thumb up from me and one thumb at a 45 degree angle. I didn't really start feeling any of the songs til about track 7 or 8. Would I buy it? No, but I'm sure someone else would. Would I put it on my iPod if someone gave it to me? No, but maybe if I upgraded to like 30G and had extra space to spare then I probably would. I'm not saying it's a bad album, I'm just saying it's not for me.

Swavor of the Week
Ok ok ok, so I decided that the Swavor for this Week should be something....how should I put it without making previous Swavors seem less than...well this one is a Swavor that your parents will love. The Swavor of the Week is now.... COLLEGE!!! That's right, shouts out to all of my college students out there, getting your higher education!! I gets rough, I know, I'm there right now, but soon enough it will all be worth it once the degree comes. I want all of my college students to comment on this post if.....
- You have had at least one 8AM class
- You try to register for class that DONT meet on Friday
- You eat Ramen once a week if not more often
- You wait until it's ABSOLUTELY necessary to buy books ( even then you may just borrow one from a friend in the same class)
- When you meet someone new, one of your first questions is: Are you on Facebook?
- You have taken one of those shuttles to a party
- You feel like Asher Roth's "I Love College" should be your theme song
- You have seen someone (or been that someone) so drunk that it makes you rethink drinking all together
- You've had a class where you learn NOTHING in lecture and the exams might as well be the text book with fill in the blank spaces.
- You find yourself and your friends "putting in" on EVERYTHING because individually none of you have enough money to feed yourselves.
Feel free to add to this list, I know I left out a LOT of characteristics of college life.

SUNSHINE
So....I guess Bow Wow is gonna cut back on his video budget. IT'S A RECESSION!! I thought I'd watch this vid and e'd give a snek peak of this song of his "Sunshine", BUT I was wrong. dude had a full length video shoot on his bus equipped with Sour Patch Kids and all. I guess this is the way to get around the million dollar shoots. This video is so fresh off his camera it was uploaded to Youtube only about 40 minutes ago. Check it out for yourselvs.

How NOT to get a fan
I went to this showcase last night at club Frequency over in Underground Atlanta. Everything was on the up and up as far as artists went for the most part, there was a dull performance or too, but everyone has to start somewhere. I want to take the time out now to say LET J.MONEY BE J.MONEY!!!! I DON'T CARE IF YOU ACTUALLY FEEL LIKE YOUR SWAGG HAS SWAGG AND YOUR SWAGG'S SWAGG IS ON THE MOON SOMEWHERE!!!!! I DONT CARE IF YOU'VE BEEN SAYING IT FOR YEARS EITHER, RIGHT NOW THAT BELONGS TO J.MONEY AND NO MATTER HOW YOU TRY TO EXPLAIN IT YOU JUST LOOK LIKE A BITER!! THAT'S IT.
Most notably I'll mention (in order of performance) Lyrical Preacher, C-Squad, Izrael and Rellik Rebel. There was this reggae cat that held it down, Im just embarassed that I can't remember his name (If you know who I'm talkin about please leave his name in a comment to this post). Anyway, the afore mentioned acts were definitely worth the late night coupled with waking up this morning for class.
You know they say the good guys never get the shine they deserve, and I guess I'm about to add to that since what I really want to write about is this one individual who performed with his group. I don't know his name and I won't put his group name out there simply because, I wasn't pleased with him, so they get no love from me (at least until further notice). I will admit up front that collectively they had an energetic performance, kudos to that. BUT I just wasn't feeling the song they did, I prefer something a little more happy go lucky. So I sat there watching and taking mental notes, like I said before I wasn't feeling it so I wasn't groovin to it. Then I don't know what possessed this rapper guy to approach me during the performance, but he did, EPIC FAIL. It was definitely around 1 or later by this point so I'm hoping this was his idea of an April Fool's Day joke. So this guy is all in my personal space rapping all aggressively and intense like. Please don't put your finger in the vicinity in which I breathe my air!!! This was definitely not the song for a move like that, and I'm definitely not the girl for a move like that. If I wasn't interested in what you were doing before, do you really think that yelling in my face was going to win me over???? SMH. Do better. I mean really, what were you thinking?? Someone help me understand. I value my personal space and when you force yourself into my personal space it's definitely a violation. It's like.... social molestation, yes I think I may have just made that up but that's basically what it comes down to. A note to all performers: Don't socially molest an uninterested audience member, it doesn't bring them to your side!!!

1 More Day
I love that you guys have been voting and sending in feedback on the song of the moment for the "Like it Love it Let it GO!" feature. There is 1 day left to vote (today) if you haven't done it yet, listen to the song then cast your vote in the poll underneath it. The song will stay up until I find a new song of the moment, so you can still listen to it and send in your extra comments to carter2carterspot@gmail.com
Hmmmmm....I may extend the poll....not sure yet...what do you guys think?

Love vs Money
By now most of you have heard the new album "Love vs Money" by the Dream. By now I also hope you all know me well enough to infer where I'm about to go with this one too. So the title track is a banger without a doubt, but I can't help but think it's about (drum roll please) Nivea. It's not explicit but I think he's dropping hints. It basically sounds like he was too busy paper chasing once he started becoming this mega star to be there for her and give her the love she needed. Following the premise of the song you can infer that Lil Wayne was more than willing to give her the love she wasn't getting from Dream. Then, there is the song that comes right after called "Love vs Money Pt 2" and this one is SO obvious I don't think it's fair. Dream starts to tell us that it wasn't all his fault and wonders if she will ever take responsibility for what she's done. He also says something like "once you realized she's not the one 3 years have gone by and n***a you don" Hmmmmmm? Oh and then towards the end of the song his ad libs go a little something like this "you can have her back, you can have her back" Now, we all know that Nivea was with Wayne before she got with Dream. Well, either way, it made for two GREAT songs!
Don't forget to listen to and vote on the "Like it Love it Let it GO" song of the moment! You can find it in the sidebar to the right underneath the official contact info for the blog. Remember that if you have more specific criticisms for the song just email it to me at carter2carterspot@gmail.com

Like It, Love It, Let It GO!
This is the first in what I plan on making a permanent fixture on this blog. I'm about to present you with a song that I'm pretty sure you have never heard before. You can find it in the side bar to the right------->>>
Then I want you to vote on how you feel about the song in the poll underneath it. The options are pretty self explanatory but just for clarification here's a break down:
I really want you all to participate in this thing, so VOTE and vote honestly. The artists who are submitting these songs need honest feedback, so keep it real. If you have any specific criticisms feel free to send them in to carter2carterspot@gmail.com and I will see to it that the message is passed on to the artist for whom you have critiques {yes I will keep you anonymous}
ALL RIGHT ENOUGH TALK!!! LET'S GET TO IT!!!!!!

- Like it = it's cool but not the best you've heard
- Love it = you're really feeling it and want it to have radio play and a video
- Let it GO = you can't stand it and that the artist should not quit his or her day job!

Flight Squad
So I was asked to do a blog review of this "underground release" I can't give you much more info on it than that. I've never heard of these individuals before myself. Anyways, I was sent the mixtape I guess and I listened to it. Sound quality was on point but it wasn't my cup of tea. I'm not saying that it won't be yours though, I don't like mayo, mustard or ketchup but I know an entire planet full of people who think otherwise. The production was good for the most part and there was definite potential in the content, I just imagine it flowing better in a different way. I can't provide you with the tracks that I heard but I can direct you to their Myspace page. You may have realized by now that I'm not actually gonna review that mixtape with the ideas that I actually formed from it. What I want you lovely people to do is to go to their Myspace page and give them a listen. THEN, I want you to come back HERE and give your feedback...wait...I want you to give me your feedback on their music AND give them your feedback on it, because what do I really need it for (but I really do want it).
I think this has set the stage nicely for something new I will be doing called "Like it, Love it, Let It GO!" I'll present a new song that you have surely never heard before and give you 3 voting choices. Like it= it's cool but not the best you've heard, Love it= you're really feeling it and want it to have radio play and a video, Let it GO= you can't stand it and that the artist should not quit his or her day job! That should be coming your way 2moro bright and early so get ready!!!!

Benefit of the doubt
SO, we all think the Dream is dating Christina Milian, and I believe it's true. Of course they are playing the "just friends" card right now and that's their business. With that being said, I'm now starting a benefit of the doubt bandwagon. If they say they are just friends, then I'm gonna roll with that, even though their ACTIONS depict a DIFFERENT picture, I suppose it's possible that they could really be "just friends". Yeah, it's possible.

Swavor of the Week = "You Ain't Gotta Lie to Kick It"
Soooooo, this week's SWAVOR is more of a concept than a person, place, or product. My BFF and I have found ourselves saying this alot lately: "You aint gotta lie to kick it." What does this mean? Basically, if you enjoy someone's company and y'all already kickin it, then why lie about anything. Chances are if you can manage to just keep it real with this person, then everything's gonna be cool. All you need is this person's respect and lying will lose it everytime. A word of advice to everyone reading this: If you're keeping something a "secret" from this other person, 9.9 times out of 10 they're going to find out anyway, and you are always better off telling them up front. Don't assume that by telling them the truth that you will lose them, but I can GUARANTEE you that you will lose them by lying. Even if this lie or untruth seems relatively small, it has great potential to ruin any relationship. That is because it reprsents something much larger. It says that if you would lie about something so trivial, there is no telling what else you would lie about. PLEASE PEOPLE, be 100 about your endeavors. It will make your life MUCH easier and alot LESS stressful. Trust me.
With that said, the Swavor of this week is : "You ain't gotta lie to kick it!"

Rock On Wayne
A while back when I first heard "Prom Queen" I wrote a post saying how it didn't..."tickle my fancy" to say the least, but it was growing on me. I was hesitent about watching the video but I finally did it a minute ago and I must say that it is GREAT. It made me appreciate the song actually. I give Lil Wayne 2 thumbs up for this rock attempt he's putting out. If you haven't seen the video yet, here is the LINK.
Oh and the results are IN!! You all voted LIL WAYNE as YOUR FAVORITE CARTER!!!!!!!!!

Swavor of the Week
Ok so, I was going to change the Swavor of the Week today, BUT..I just couldn't bring myself to take Drake from that coveted spot. I've decided to give him an extended run and hopefully this time next week I can muster up the courage to remove him from the Swavor box and give some one else some well deserved shine!

Seriously
Let's set aside the fun and frivoous music for just a moment please. I have a song for you all today that has a powerful message. It's by an up and coming rapper from Atlanta by the name of Izrael. Hopefully I'll get an interview with him soon. The song is entitled "Glass Roof" and the glass roof is just another term for the glass ceiling. If you dont know already, the glass ceiling is an invisible but VERY real barrier that keeps minorities (including and especially women) from reaching their full potential most specifically and especially in the work place. Basically the glass ceiling is an inherent form of discrimination. I just want you guys to listen to this song and think about your own glass ceilings and what you can do to break through them.

Lil Wayne Cliff Notes Mixtape
I may be going out on a limb with this one but I think that Lil Wayne could help out aLOT of students by making a type of Cliff Notes Mixtape. Something not too far from a School House Rock series is what I actually have in mind. If he could make a few dozen mixtapes on various subjects and titles, I think school might be a little bit more enjoyable for some of the youth out there. Can you imagine reviewing for a math test by listening to Lil Wayne give you a few catchy bars to remember the unit circle or pythagorean theorem? What about learning the plot from Othello or Hamlet by Wayne giving you a hot 16 followed by an auto tune laden hook? I'd buy a few if he made any. Hopefully a bird can whisper this idea into his ear. I dont even need credit for it, as long as you remember that you read it HERE FIRST!! (well, a little recognition would be nice)

NO MORE DRAMA?
Well, that's the word on the street for right now anyways. There's a video floating around with T.I and Shawty Lo on stage ending their beef. It's about time. I dont know much more than this and I will have the video here by the day's end. All I can say is that I hope its over for good because I was seriously dreading Shawty Lo's follow up album which was sure to follow T.I.'s incarceration. I was really gonna hit the closest person to me in the face if I had to hear another Shawty Lo song dissing T.I. with an incredibly catchy chorus.
Good job guys, let's keep the peace!!
EDIT!!!! HERE IS THE VID AS PROMISED!

I Think She Been Drinkin From His Cup
To get right to the point I added Nivea as a friend on Facebook a while back and I saw this video that she posted recently and all I can think is that she must be sippin out of Wayne's cups. That, or she's just a VERY silly person. I dont know her, so all I can do is speculate. Either way she does make good music!! Take a look at this 4 yourself!

Swavor of the Week = THROWBACKS!!!!
Oldies but goodies are the Swavor of the Week. I'm diggin in the crates, takin it back to when I barely understood the lyrical content to songs that I knew ALL the words to. Some of these joints make me wonder where are these cats now? That'll be the next step, locating the peeps. But for now let's just reminecsce.
You guys remember Sole? I do!
"It Wasn't Me" (emeding was disabled on EVERY video for this song that I found. bummer)
JT MONEY!!! Maybe he was just a southern fad, I don't really know. But I DO remember this song! It has Sole on it too! She must have been real HOT back then.
What about that Juvenile???? It's only one part of this song that I remember: "Shhh be quiet tonight is the night that we ride, dirty camoflage..." and I never knew anymore than that. But, when you're only 10 that's more than enough.
"U Understand" (again embeding disabled. :( )
Had to do this one. Amil is my girl! And this song was my jam, plus this was when they still had to say "Beyonce from Destiny's Child" wow. Ooo Amil was RocaFella official and Beyonce was featured on this joint, so can we say EARLY Jay connects?
Let's take it to R&B. I was definitely only 9 when this song came out but I STILL know every word. What really did happen to Deborah Cox and R.L?
"We Can't Be Friends" (this diabled embedding is killing me!)
Last but not least, that guy Case. I definitely used to get him mixed up with R.L. Hey, I was in elementary school, so sue me. However, I remember this video vividly, cuz Beyonce is in it!
"Happily Ever After"

Who Let This Happen?????
SO Bow Wow has a new single out (nicely timed after that mini beef wit S.Beezy) and it's called "You Can Get It All" featuring Johnta Austin. Disclaimer: I am NOT a Bow Wow hater.
I don't know who let this happen, but the beat samples the TLC classic "Baby Baby Baby", and I hate to say that, neither Bow nor Johnta did the song ANY justice. Frankly, I'm a bit disguisted, having grown up as a die hard TLC fan (you couldn't tell me I wasn't gonna be Chili when I grew up) All I can do is SMH at this point. Where has the music gone?
Check it out 4 yourself.

Wayne Does Tats!!
So Lil Wayne apparently does it ALL, including tatoos. Tyga let Weezy do a small tat on his face. Surprisingly enough he seemed very professional and clean. He gave Tyga 3 dots that represent "laugh.think.cry" I've never gotten a tatoo but I've seen enough episodes of Miami and LA Ink, to believe that those dots shouldn't have taken as long to comlete as they did. But then again Wayne has only been doing this for 2 weeks or so. Don't take my word for it, watch the video here:

Prostitute/You and Me
If there's on ething I hate, it's being out of the loop. I feel like the world has been laughing at me and NOT letting me in on the joke. I just found out like 5 minutes ago that the lyrics from "Prostitute" by Lil Wayne were definitly bitten from a Musiq Soulchild song called "You and Me"
I'm not surprsied that he did it, since Weezy is known to recycle some lines of his own as well as others, like the joint he did wit Pleasure of Pretty Ricky called "Rock Bottom" he basically used the entire first verse to Aaliyah's song "I Dont Wanna". I just wish I'd found all this out earlier, like in 2007!!!!! Oh well, still a nice song. I'm providing the proof that I found, but I must make the disclaimer that I DID NOT make this video nor do I know the person who did. I must also say that regardless of the opinion provided at the end of this video, I still respect Lil Wayne.

Something To Laugh At
I felt like we all deserved a good laugh. This is a video a came across a while back, and it still cracks me up everytime. ENJOY!!!
The Dream And Christina Millian???
OK, I couldn't hold onto this until 2moro! I keep hearing that Dream and Chrsitina Milian are an item. I heard this a while back too, but dismissed it since they claim to "just be friends" but what celeb couple doesn't say that? Anyway, I still don't give it much thought until the degrees of separation came full circle to me like 5 seconds ago. Follow me with this one:

Don't they look happy.
- The Dream was married to Nivea (old news)
- Nivea is now with Lil Wayne (again)
- Chrsitina Milian was dating Nick Cannon (back in the day)
- Nick Cannon is now married to Mariah Carey (still blows my mind)
- The Dream has a song with Mariah Carey ("My Love")
- Mariah is married to Nick Cannon
- Who used to date Christina Milian
- Who is now dating The Dream!!
So basically, The Dream is dating Christina while working with the woman that's married to her ex-boyfriend. I guess it's all just business at the end of the day. Or is this Christina's way of sticking it to Nick. Since we all know that Mariah is the one with all the money in the relationship, and if The Dream is writing songs for her, Miss Milian can pretty much argue that at any given moment she can whisper in Dream's ear and tank MC's career and stop Nick's gravy train dead in it's tracks!!! You go girl!!!

Don't they look happy.
So Far Gone
The kid Drake just dropped his new mixtape "So Far Gone" like Friday/Saturday somewhere in there depending on which coast you live on. Anyways, it is great. I know I hype him up alot, but I can;t help but to give props where they're due. He most definitely deserves all the props peopke are giving him. Very rarely do I come across a cd that I can listen to from the very beginning to the very end, but this is one of those joints. He's also got some good feature artists on there, of course Wayne made an appearance or two, Trey Songz showed up and even Omarion!! Swavor of the Week
I'm so late, but life is sooo killer right now. This week's SWAVOR is brought to you courtesy of the clothing line Sol Munki. I been aware of them for a while but recently I find myself intrigued in them more. They had a nice lil shop in downtown ATL next to the New Era flagship store, but now they're moving on up to having a store in the Lenox Mall. Big ups to the Sol Munki crew, that's definitely a good look!!!! Check them out at http://solmunki.com

FRIDAY FOOLISHNESS
I saw the most FOOLISH thing not to long ago and it must be shared. I do not promote this behaviorin any way. I would like to promote this video on a HOW NEVER TO ACT!!! The video I'm refering to is the casting video for the up coming Plies reality show. What is it called? "Bust It Baby" of course. I'm currently debating whether or not I should embed the video here or just give you guys the link for it. YES, it is that crazy, I'm not sure if I want it to be able to be viewed from my establishment. I can't imagine why anyone would act like this. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can we at least TRY to do better? OK, I've decided to post the video here, only if you all PROMISE me that you will use it as a guide on how NOT to act. I don't know what network would stoop so low as to pick this show up. Honestly, this must be ignorance at it's finest. This basically almost puts me to shame for being a female. I can't believe this, SMH! Parental discretion is strongly advised. Don't say I didnt warn you. Here goes nothing:
Actually, I think I'll be removing this soon and just replace it with the link.

Drake & Weezy "Ignorant Sh*t"
Drake is not stopping, and I'm loving it! Here's a new track he's got out with Weezy F. Baby called "Ignorant Sh*t".
"Wet glass on your table, n**ga no coaster..."
You can't tell me he's not ill. I heard rumors that he actually does some writing for Lil Wayne....I wouldn't be surprised at all if that turns out to be true.

My Thoughts on C.Breezy and RiRi
I know there has been alot of talk about this, and I didn't want to cover the story since most of the good stuff are just rumors. But I will take the time to give my honest opinions on this situation.
Let me start by saying that I DO NOT CONDONE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. I will follow that by saying, just because you are a female does NOT give you the right to act a fool with a man or anyone else on the planet. I don't know if Rihanna started the brawl, but it only seems logical because only true CRAYZOS go ham on other individuals for no apparent reason, these people are also know as serial killers. Moving on, whatever the provocation was, it did not warrent Chris to do the damage he did (no pun intended). From what I hear the good girl gone bad was left in bad shape, and thats jusst not a good look for anyone involved.
Next, it's so sad to see the two of them in this situation only becasue they are so YOUNG. They going through it like they some old torn down married folk in a disfunctional home. The future really doesn' t seem to promising for either of them right now. But this leads me to my next point. They just had to be grown. They weren't satisfied with acting their ages. Chris Brown is all of 19 years old with a fan base of girls roughly from the ages of 10 and up. Now for the most part I think the ones buying his albums are between 10 and 14 years old. I dont know about you, but I have a problem with him singing "Take You Down" and knowing that pre-teens are gonna make him platinum. Now Rhianna is about 20 going on 21 and seems like to me she's only recently found a lane that works for her career which I don't think is necessarily her actual lane. I remember her in the video for "Pon de Replay" and being all islander and happy go lucky looking. Sure that didn't work out too well, but it seemed real. Then she had to go chop her hair off and dye it black (Emo much?) and proclaim herself as a "Good Girl Gone Bad". In the words of her boss Jay-Z "...Once a good girl's gone bad, she's gone forever..." and that looks to be what's manifesting. Taking a step back, how good was she to start with when she had a smash hit entitled "Unfaithful" and was admittingly that on 106&Park when asked about the song. (Yea, I remember that episode well)
Either way, this is a tragic situation for everyone involved. I don't see Breezy getting out of this one too clean, and if he dodges jail time, I highly doubt that he'll get any of his endorsements back ( at least not in the next 2-4 years) As for RiRi, I doubt she'll be the next Tina Turner. Let's learn from this epic publice display of failure:
1. Ladies don't go showing out. Be a lady. In the event that you just MUST show out, be fully prepared to win that fight with whomever you have started it with, because if you were bad enough to start it, you should be bad enough to finsish it. (And if you lose, you have no right to call the police)
2. Fellas, no matter how much a chick spaz out, DO NOT HIT HER. Just leave her on the side of the road looking stupid and DO NOT LOOK BACK!!! Remember, when violence is involved, you will ALWAYS TAKE THE FALL.
Are you smarter than THIS 9 yr. old
So apparently this uber smart 9 yr. old kid made a cool aplication for the iPhone. I'm not surprised since kids seem to be getting smarter and more adult and younger ages every year. I congratualte this lil guy, especially since he created for his LITTLE SISTERS who loves to draw. The application lets you draw on the iPhone and shake it like an Etcha-A-Skecth to erase it. It's called Doodle Kids. If you have an iPhone then I suggest that you go download it now. I'm just going to have to mooch off of one of my iPhone endowed friends to check this out for myself!
Here's the whole article on it including a link for you to download the application now!

The Grammy's was GREAT! & Bow & S.Beezy Squash Beef
I feel like I missed all the important awards, which is impossible since I was glued to the TV. However, the performances were very on point. I loved every last one of them! The "Swagger Like Us" performance had to be the highlight, especially with M.I.A. being OH SO PREGGERS!! I bet Chris Brown and Rihanna would have been great too. (I hope they get all that drama worked out). I would totally rock a "Free Chris Breezy" shirt.
Make sure you peep the SOW to the right ------->>
Alas, the Bow Wow vs. S.Beezy beef has come to an end. They have removed the videos from their Youtube channels, and all is well in the world. BUT, check out this audio of them finally speaking to each other about it and squashin the madness!

Swavor of the Week = Kidrobot
Let's try some fashion as this week's swavor! I give you Kidrobot!!! According to the website, Kidrobot is planet earth's premier creator & retailer of limited edition toys, clothing, artwork and books. I own a pair of PJ's by Kidrobot. I think I sleep pretty fly if I must say so myself. How do I explain the coolness that is Kidrobot? Basically, it's just real cool swag. It's got an 80's vibe to it also. The toys they sell are hella cool too. It ranges from Adult Swim characters to custom Kidrobot monsters. Peep game at their website.
